How much iron is in these chicken liver capsules?
The Vitality Pills contain 52mg of iron per 100 grams (as independently tested by the National Measurement Institute).
The recommended serving size is 3 capsules which contains 0.77mg of iron.
The iron in chicken liver is more bioavailable than mineral iron supplements because it contains heme-iron (which is more easily absorbed by the body). The liver is processed by steaming before dehydration. This increases the bioavailability of the iron even more.
The Vitality Pills also provide a good source of Vitamin B12, Protein, Folate & Zinc.
Is the amount of vitamin A (retinol) safe?
The Vitamin A in organic chicken liver is in the natural form of retinol.
These Vitality Pills have been independently lab tested and contain 50μg of retinol (vitamin A) per serve of 3 capsules.
This is a VERY safe amount of natural Vitamin A that can be taken daily.
The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for Vitamin A for men is 900μg/day and for women it is 700μg/day.
According to the National Institute of Health, the tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) for adults is set at 3,000 μg/day of vitamin A (retinol).
What are the capsules made from?
The capsules are made from cellulose (plant based) and contain 100% certified organic dehydrated chicken liver powder.
How much iron is in chicken liver?
According to the Australian Food Composition Database (by FSANZ), 100 grams of raw chicken liver contains 9.8 milligrams of iron.

How much liver is in each jar?
Each jar of 100 capsules (500mg each) contains the equivalent of around 200grams of fresh organic chicken liver.
What is the dosage?
Dosage really depends on people’s needs and how quickly they need to get their iron levels up.
If you know your iron is low, you may like to have 3 capsules 2-3 times a day until you feel better.
Can vegetarians take this?
Many of my customers are vegetarian or intolerant of red meat but find the capsules an easy way to get the benefits of heme.
Are these chicken liver capsules safe for use during pregnancy?
Yes, the Vitality Pills are safe during pregnancy. Each 3-capsule serving contains only 50 mcg of Vitamin A (retinol), which is well within the safe daily limit recommended by health organisations (up to 3,000 mcg or 10,000 IU). This low level of Vitamin A ensures safety while still providing essential nutrients.
Vitamin A is a crucial micronutrient for both pregnant women and their babies, playing an essential role in development.

Are the capsules safe?
I am trained in food safety and handling so you can rest assured my processes are safe. I use a dedicated kitchen/lab to process the chicken liver.
The chicken liver is steamed before dehydration to ensure food safety and increase the bioavailability of the nutrients.

Can you tell me more about the chickens?
The certified organic chicken livers come from a lovely family farm in Southeast Queensland, Australia.
The chickens are absolutely free of any hormones, antibiotics, vaccines, steroids, growth promotants and synthetic methionine.
They get to forage and free roam all day and are securely locked up at night. They enjoy sunshine and fresh air and have a happy life.
All birds are hand-processed on the farm (to avoid stress of transportation).
The poultry is produced in an ethical and sustainable way to the highest standards.
Is your packaging eco-friendly?
Yes! We are eco-conscious with our packaging. You can either re-use, recycle or home compost
- We use recycled paper satchels or cardboard boxes for mailing
- We use paper hex wrap as a protective cushion
- We use compostable postage labels and tape (either brown paper or plant based cello tape)
- The Vitality Pills are in an amber glass jar because this is the safest choice for storing vitamins and supplements. Amber glass helps protect the capsules from UV light and also aids in maintaining freshness and potency
This eco packaging helps the environment. We’ve replaced all plastic packaging material to a more eco-conscious alternative that will break down quicker or even help grow a garden.
How come the discount is different to $10?
If you join our newsletter, you are eligible for A$10 discount on orders of 2+ jars - Yay!
Unfortunately, Shopify’s system only lets us create discounts in our store’s base currency, which is Australian Dollars (AUD).
So, when a $10 AUD discount is applied to orders in other currencies, it is converted based on the exchange rate at checkout, which may be higher or lower.
Shopify doesn’t currently allow us to offer discounts in multiple currencies.
